1 Peter, Evan Moog
I was reading through 1 Peter, and a theme that continuously came up was that we need to live as strangers in this world. This concept is such a different idea than what society wants us to think about ourselves. The world want us to take and buy and own as much as we can, but Peter calmly states that we are foreigners to this land and that our true home is in heaven when we can eternally live with our creator. I love this idea that I am not a citizen of this world, but am divinely connected to the paradise that my heavenly father has arranged for me. living as a stranger entails that I set myself a part from the rest of the people that live here on earth. This challenge is appropriate for a person in college because there is a lot of pressure to do what everyone else is doing. I thank God everyday for his divine plan in my life.
