Communitas, Evan Moog
Communitas is defined by Turner as the social anti structure. This group atmosphere that is a communal and equivalent experience for all members arises spontaneously. This experience happens only when in a liminal situation where structures of society do not bound the people who are able to be deeply connected by the force of being in the same realm. This rarely studied phenomenon is an aspect of people's everyday life in religion economics and throughout society when people become disconnected as a group and come together to form a communal atmosphere where everybody is equal with no one person leads the way. This is a unique and interesting concept as I am in the leadership program. Is there really a situation where no one is the leader? Maybe there is only when everyone in the group is willing to be self less and live in love for the other people.
