Tucker Frye- Let Go and Let God

This semester I have been learning what it means to let God work in my ministry and go along for the ride. My style of leadership is normally very proactive. I like to be doing things. But when I took a guy to lunch this summer, I had no intentions of doing the talking. I wanted God to take control. So when we sat down to enjoy our meal, I asked the guy day to day questions like, "how is school?" or "what did you do today?" But God did not have that kind of conversation in mind. Soon, the guy was telling me about the death of his mother a few years ago and the rough family life he has now. Here right in front of me was an example of the work God does without us. I asked no questions that begged him to pour his life to me and yet he did. That is not the work of a human but of a God who can change hearts.
