Robert Lannes: National Parks
National Parks are a very important places in America, because they are sacred locations, that are available for people to see in mass quantities. Yellowstone, Yosemite, The Grand Canyon, and Rocky Mountain National Park attract more than 13 million people every year. There are many other sacred sites in the U.S., but none are viewed on the mass scale as these attractions. Some people visit these places as tourist attractions, and are less likely to experience the location in the sense of chora, demonstrating the third axiom, yet there are many others that are able to come out to these locations and experience the phenomenological approach that they have to offer the travelers. I personally have not been able to visit any of these places, but I definitely plan to. These places were created when the civil war fragmented american, and are view as a unifying icon. One problem is the upkeep that these parks are under, if they are kept up with by mankind, then they are less of a wild place, and more of a tourist attraction.
