Joe Conway Outside Reading #3

While doing research for my paper, i came across an article called First Exposure which talks about a person's riveting first experience on the Appalachian Trail. The story made me think of what my first experience would be like on the Appalachian Trail, and i think it would be pretty pathetic. It made me realize i dont know nearly as much as i think i do about nature and how to survive out there. The author laughingly talks about their misjudgement when preparing for the trip, and how they were completely unaware of the circumstances they were about to be in. This sounds a lot like how i would be, having barely ever spent more than a day camping or hiking.
