At the heart of YoungLife is one thing: Jesus Christ. Having said that, YoungLife can be one of the most complex things in the world. Every aspect of camp is planned out from what time we send kids into the obstacle course at night, to the way the pitchers of water are turned in the dining hall. During the week when we visit kids at the school, we find new hallways or entrances so that we can meet different kids and don't get stuck in the same group. When we have club, there is a very specific format we take that keeps the energy up or brings it down when we need kids to be quiet. I have become very good at running a club, or going to the school, or even taking kids to camp and leading them well. However, it is not me that changes a kids heart. It is not me that takes them from death to life. It is not me that initiates anyone's relationship with the Lord. It is Jesus.
