Liz Cathey: Personal Experience 2

Living on an island, I go to the beach quite frequently.  But there was one beach visit that separated itself from all the other hundreds of times that I have gone.  It was the early evening and we had just arrived to the beach and started to set up the essentials for a bonfire and cookout.  As the evening progressed, I remember sitting by the fire as it started to get colder.  It was then that I felt it: total peace.  I could feel the spirit around me, surrounding every inch of my body.  I took in the beauty of the scenery, the sun setting, the ocean's waves crashing, the cool breeze on my face, the sand underneath my feet... I have still to this day not been able to recreate that feeling, but maybe that is a good thing, because that is a memory that I will always hold with me.
