Jackie Bond- Outside reading
Another class that helped me alot with this ullc class was my anthropology class. That class focuses on different cultures and how they do different things, value different things, and live different ways. One way in which they are different from is is their religion and what they consider to be sacred. For example, there might be other cultures out there who consider the cow to be a sacred animal, where as our culture may not. The main concept that our teacher stressed to us was not to consider our culture the "best" culture. Just because we are familiar with a certain way of life does not mean it is the only way of life. If we come across something in another culture that is strange to us, instead of looking down at it, we need to see it from their perspective and understand why they do what they do. By using this thought process, we can also see why other cultures view certain things and places as sacred.
