Kristin Melton-- Victor Turner 2

Turner uses the word "liminality" to refer to an in-between threshold state.  I believe college can be referred to as a liminal because we are at an in-between stage in life.  We are no longer considered children but do not take the full responsibilities of adults either.  The semester of college also have states of liminality.  When exam time gets close, students get in a state of in-between: they want to continue to do well in school but at the same time they loose all motivation.I also find it interesting that the word 'liminality' is not considered a real word by the Word processor dictionary.  This caught my attention because Victor Turner has used it in text on several occasions.
