Liz Cathey: Class Reading 3

In Turner and Turner about St. Patrick's Purgatory, many different things were discussed.  In one particular part of the book the I found to be extremely interesting was the discussion of the Catholic pilgrimage.  Over the semester, pilgrimages have been my favorite thing to learn about and study, so I was eager to see another religion's perspective on the ordeal.  I have noticed through studying them that many pilgrimages try to imitate the journey or struggle that the figurehead of a particular culture or religion went through.  This section of the books also goes into purgatory, a large part of Catholic's faith.  Reading more in depth on purgatory makes me realize how terrible of a time it could be, just sitting around and waiting for your judgement, not sure if it will ever come.
