As we walked on the Noland trail I realized that I had never really taken in the true beauty of nature and how beautiful it is. While the class listened to Dr. Redick, I listened to the birds chirping and the bees buzzing around. It was the first time that I had ever just sat back and listened to nature and all that it has to say. The thing that stuck out most in my mind about this trip was the tree that had the disease in its trunk. The trunk was deformed and very large compared to the rest of the tree. It showed the tree had real character and that it really is a part of nature. Not everything is perfect, but its been through something that makes it the way that it is... much like a human-beings life.
