According to the book, ritual is behavior done through routine that have a reference to beliefs in mystical beings or powers.  I agree with this concept because ritual is supposed to be something that hold meaning, enlightenment to a certain belief or value.  Ritual for fraternities and sororities are the key elements to the significance behind their existence.  Without ritual, there would be no sort of significance to the overall message.
