Dan Matarazzo, Outside Reading 1

The Paleo-diet is an interesting take on human dieting. So much emphasis in modern nutrition is invested into complicated and expensive procedures being developed by the latest technology; this can scope from diet pills to cosmetic surgery. However, the Paleo-diet focuses on our original existence in nature and understanding how our bodies evolved and were meant to operate. The author focuses on a consumption of lean meats, fish, chicken, etc., paired with nuts, vegetables, and fruits; essentially the diet of our hunter-gatherer ancestors.  Remembering and rediscovering the methods of our ancestors, which had limited technology and resources, is paramount to making a healthier and more sustainable future. Our ancestors were limited, so they had to do everything as efficiently as possible, especially eating which would have been a day to day struggle.
