Image and Pilgrimage in Christian Culture #3 - Matt Marquand
The concept of communitas is extremely hard to comprehend in modern society. Communitas is commonly known as social antistructure, it is the opposite of a structured society. It happens spontaneously and cannot be planned which is a very unique idea. It can occur in all different kinds of groups, situations or circumstances. Turner claims is it deeply engraved in law, ethics, kinship and even economics. The thought of communitas in economics is hard to imagine but it is possible. It can bring a feeling of enjoyment and usually a pleasureable experiance.
