The differences in the hows and whys of pilgrimages cannot be cross examined to determine an outline for future pilgrimages. Each one is unique in purpose and trail. The feeling of accomplishment and possible communitas, however are. Pilgrimages are as similar as they are different and it will always be an individual feeling along the trail. This allows pilgrims to be on a journey for whichever reasons they choose to disclose or remain secret.
