Kristin Melton-- Topic of Choice
Today we had class outside and discussed Annie Dillard's choice of voice in her writing. This was in preparation for our Noland trail class so we went over her interpretation of the wilderness. In the first excerpt we heard, Dillard was discussing a wolf. I found this to be rather interesting, because i thought the aspect of nature she was describing was a body of water, particularly a rapid. The choice of wording she used made the wolves she was describing seem much more aggressive and powerful than what I imagine any creature to be. I just found it funny what I took away from her description.
