Kristin Melton-- Natural Setting

When I was younger, we lived on a dirt road in the woods. I had a horse and took her on rides in the woods around our house.  After a while, the same trails get pretty boring so I took her down the electric trail on my neighbors property. We ended up in the woods directly behind their house and kept going until their house was no longer in sight.  After a while we reached a creek that was several feet lower than the ground we were on.  Laying across the creek banks we a fallen tree that acted as a bridge. After the day that we initially found this place, we returned often.  I consider this to be a personal sacred place, because it is known only by me (and my horse) and I found comfort in going there knowing that no one else knew about it.  I would go and sit on the fallen tree and my horse would stand, not needing to be tied up. This is my sacred place.
