Throughout the semester we discussed several different terms, one of them being kairos. As a Communication Studies major, I've learned this term in some of my previous classes and I believe it is an extremely important term. Kairos means good timing and it can be the difference between a great experience and a bad experience. It's especially significant in speeches as it can help build up the suspense and draw on the audience's emotions. Comedians, good comedians, use kairos as well for the punchlines of their jokes. I'm glad we talked about this in class because it is an idea that is very important to a variety of situations and it's very underrated and most often overlooked. Most everyone has heard of the phrase "opportune timing" which is akin to the idea of kairos because any period of time, no matter how small, can be the difference in any situation and it is something we should all be attuned to.
