In class we watched a movie titled Cold Fever. It was about a man who traveled to Iceland to perform a sacred ritual where his parents died. He had never been a religious man, but after his journey he found himself to be much more religious than before. This absolutely shows that its all about the journey and how you experience it. The man experienced something greater than himself, something that he couldn't explain but he could feel. Lane said "a sacred place is ordinary place, ritually made extraordinary." This explains this movie perfectly. The place where his parents died was just an ordinary place, but after his ritualy it became extraordinary. A place where the man will probably continue to visit and remember for the rest of his life because of the sacred feeling he got there.
