Steven Chung: Natural Setting blog 2
Over this past spring break I got the opportunity to go to Canada for a snowboard trip. The Mont Tremblant Resort, located in Quebec, is a well known ski resort in the Laurentian mountains. Being up in the high altitudes was pretty incredible; I was able to see and overlook all the surrounding mountains and the city. At one point I thoroughly believe that I experienced wilderness therapy first hand from being up in the mountains. I had a little too much fun one of the nights and I woke up feeling sick and uneasy. It was hard for me to get out of bed and get myself in an active mindset. But when I actually got up and grabbed my snowboard gear to hit my first run on the slopes, it all magically went away. Being on the mountain and breathing in the cold, crisp, and refreshing air was soothing. I think taking in the fresh air and cruising down the mountain and being able to glide above the snow was a relaxing activity that somehow got ride of my sickness. It was awesome being to enjoy the beautiful scenery from the top of the mountain and "shred" through the trees on the fresh powder.
