As a music major, I believe that music is a very important part of life and I believe that music can conjure up numerous emotions in people. After taking this class, I can now realize how important music is to sacred landscapes as well. I wrote my paper on how light can enhance the sacredness of a place, but if I could take this class over again, I would probably write my paper about how music can enhance the sacredness of the place. And the cool thing is that this music does not have to have lyrics specifically. Alot of the examples we listened to in class had lyrics that went with the songs that we were asked to talk about. However, I also feel that sometimes just instrumental music can enhance the spirituality of a place because the music can stir up many emotions in someone.
