Keely Johnson: The Sandlot

The movie "The Sandlot", presents a sacred place known to most children. This is a place they can escape the pressures of school and home life. It is a place they can relax and foster friendships. Adults and outsiders don't understand the importance of the place, while the kids who play there will try anything to be there as much as possible. They have aligned the rest of their lives around getting to play at the sandlot everyday. This place is very sacred to these children, so sacred that they are even willing to put up with the beast. They have ritually made this lumpy grass field into an extraordinary safe haven.
