Liz Cathey: Outside Reading 2
My second outside source comes from the required reading for CNU, "Three Cups of Tea" by Greg Mortenson. I think of this book as an example of how just one experience can change your entire life. This is exemplified through Mortenson's journey and how when he saw the children of one particular village lacking a building for schooling, it shifted his priorities to taking care of these young minds. It made me think about how just one experience or instance in someone's life can entirely shift your way of thinking, and how often, these driven minds are the most passionate. Having a cause to fight for is one of the most powerful things, and it is something that a person can spend an entire lifetime searching for.
