Mary Lauren Smith - Experience of Natural Setting

On a recent trip to the Nolan Trail, I experienced what total and pure nature felt like. I was able to go off on my own and walk down man-made path's not knowing where they led me. I got to feel and look at so many different types of plants and trees, even some animals. Sitting down, without any technology, listening to the birds chirping and singing to one another, and the trees rustling in the wind felt so relaxing and relieving, I began to wonder why people who are under severe stress don't just do this instead of seeking physiatrics help. This is the only place where one can completely be themselves without being judged by others, and I truly felt at ease.
