Mary Lauren Smith - Experience of Natural Setting #2

I've always grown up on the water, and in particular, on my very own beach. I could always walk ten steps out my back door and my feet would be in the sand. This is such a comforting and relaxing feeling; nothing makes me happier than knowing at the end of my day I can soak up some sun and enjoy feeling the water rush up to my feet. With no one around me, no noises or human voices, I am able to sit back and listen to the waves rushing up on the sand repeatedly, and the wind making it's way through my hair. I'm able to stick my hands and feet into the sand and feel it flowing through my fingers and toes. I get to see wildlife trying to survive on the water such as pelicans diving down into the water to catch their afternoon meal. I also get to see all the different objects that wash up on the beach, such as all different colored sea glass, crab pots, seaweed, etc. I could never imagine not living by or near the water, it's such a lucky gift, and doesn't get anymore natural than that.
