Lane's second axiom is "sacred place is ordinary place, ritually made extraordinary". What this means is that what me be an ordinary place one walks by everyday made be spiritually and extremely sacred to someone else because they've either experienced pain and suffering or pure happiness there. For example, if a husband proposes to their wife at a restaurant of their choice, that place is now sacred to the two of them, yet just another restaurant to everyone else.
