Mary Lauren Smith - Landscapes of the Sacred - Third Axiom

Lane's third axiom is "sacred place can be tred upon without being entered". What this means is that you may walk by this particular place or spot everyday, but haven't sat down and taken it all in. I believe this is the most important axion, because it fits every person's everyday lives. People are so busy and stressed that they go day by day without taking in nature and it's beauty. We could be getting so much more out of life by taking everything in and accepting anything sacred to us, yet we choose not to. Someone that is connected with nature could decide to take the path less traveled because it's sacred to them in that it's unique in what it has to offer while someone else may just see it as a path of dirt and leaves and choose to not see it for what it truly is.
