Mary Lauren Smith - Topic of My Choosing - Cold Fever Film
In the film "Cold Fever", we are taught about a business man named Hirata who chooses to travel across Iceland in hopes to find the landmark his parents died at, and perform the sacred Japanese ritual in honor of his mother and father. During his journey, he encountered many different people who were either roadblocks in his way or a helpful hand. He travels by bus, by car, by foot, and by car in severely cold weather all in hopes to find the place his parents died at, a river, and perform the necessary ritual to feel at peace again. I found this film very interesting because it showed me what it is like to go out of you way for your family, and what a sacred journey truly is.
