Nicolas Maxim: Choice: Rock Climbing

Over the summer I went to a wilderness therapy camp in Utah. It was a life changing experience where we slept on the ground and spent all our time in nature. Liminality was very evident in this experience being that I was between two worlds. I was between the previous structure and the structure that I would be a part of when returned from camp. Once we got there communitas was also present being that no social structure was set up. Over time I was designated as the leader of our group, so I would plan out the day hikes and where we had to meet by the end of the day. With me being the leader the communitas quickly turned into community. This is what we often see when communitas is present.
